Nikolsky Market is one of the most beautiful sights of the historical Kolomna district in St. Petersburg, the history of which is full of interesting mysteries and dramatic twists. The first mystery of this place is who is the real architect of the two–storey commercial building in the classical style? There is no answer to this question. The author of the original project is considered to be G.H. Paulsen, however, according to a more common version, another, unknown author, developed a market project based on the projects of J.H.
