Sea resort: the best beaches of St. Petersburg and the region

People come to St. Petersburg not only for museums, theaters and excursions. The city is located off the coast of the Gulf of Finland, so in summer it turns into a seaside resort.

You can swim in the sea both in St. Petersburg itself, and, having reached by car or train, on one of the beaches of the Leningrad region.

Where to go for a swim if you are staying at the Theatre Square Hotel? We tell you in the article.

The beach of the 300th Anniversary of St. Petersburg Park

The most accessible beach for residents and visitors of the city is located in the park of the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg. You can get to it from the hotel by metro, from the station “Sennaya Ploshchad” to “Begovaya" with one transfer.

The beach is free, and in summer there are changing cabins and volleyball courts.

Golden Beach in Zelenogorsk

Zelenogorsk is located more than 50 km from St. Petersburg. You can get to the city and the beach by train, which runs from the Finlandsky railway station.

The golden beach in Zelenogorsk is well-maintained, and there is everything for a comfortable stay: benches, umbrellas, changing cabins. Nearby there is a park and attractions where you can spend time if the weather is not suitable for swimming.

Komarovsky beach

“For a week, until the second.

I'm going to Komarovo

To look with an unaccustomed eye

On the Baltic wave..”

Igor Sklyar, performing the famous hit, did not suspect that both the song and the suburban village of Komarovo would be popular among tourists even decades later.

You can also get to the place by train, which runs several times a day from the Finlandsky railway station. In the village, the beach is divided into two parts: sandy and rocky. There is an ecotrope nearby.

Dune Beach

In Sestroretsk there is one interesting beach “Dunes” for those who prefer to sunbathe and swim without swimsuits. However, no one will kick you out of here with a swimsuit.

One of the advantages of the place is a clean sandy area and convenient access to the water. However, there is little infrastructure on the beach, except for spontaneous volleyball courts.

City beach in Kronstadt

Kronstadt is an island city surrounded by the Gulf of Finland, which can be reached both by car or bus along the ring road, and by water transport.

The beach is sandy, several equipped descents lead to the water. There is a playground on the territory, there are not so many umbrellas, so we recommend taking everything with you. For vacationers there are cafes, toilets, you can rent a boat or SUP.

Sea holidays in St. Petersburg are as popular as cultural ones. If you want to combine hiking in museums and swimming in the sea, book a hotel in St. Petersburg in July. Theatre Square Hotel offers comfortable rooms and first-class service for vacationers in the northern capital.
